LPA Board
LPA Board,Board of directors,Lebanese Petroleum Authority
While the discovery of hydrocarbons offshore Lebanon could have massively turned around the country’s economic woes and ongoing electricity and energy crisis, the nation doesn’t seem any closer to its goals of exploiting those assets. The Lebanese Petroleum Authority board, which rotates its chairperson every term, has dropped multiple spots on our ranking this year due to the collapse of the Lebanese economy, its weak response to the coronavirus pandemic, and the 4 August blast which shattered the nation’s capital. Despite the high stakes involved, this small, Mediterranean nation seems further than ever to realising the potential of its hydrocarbon reserves and utilizing them to restore its electricity and industrial capabilities.
