While Mubadala is increasingly focusing outside of the energy sector, with record investments of $29.4 billion in 2020 in areas including technology, life sciences and consumer goods, it is joining the nation’s energy ministry, ADNOC, and ADQ in creating a hydrogen alliance to boost the production and use of this fuel in the UAE, with the ultimately goal of exporting it. The company could also join a group investing $12.4 billion in Aramco’s oil pipelines.
