The biggest news out of the UAE-based Sharjah National Oil Company was the start-up of production at the Mahani-1 gas well with partner Eni, a year after the discovery of gas in the field, the first new onshore discovery in the emirate of Sharjah in 37 years. SNOC and Eni each hold a 50% stake in the Mahani field as part of the Area B concession agreement.
