This is another Scottish firm that is expanding in the region. KCA Deutag acquired the Omani and Saudi Arabian businesses of land drilling contractor Dalma Energy this year in a $660mn deal, adding 46 land rigs to its total of more than 100 globally. KCA also has a presence in the UAE, Algeria and Iraq. The firm has also signed an offshore drilling contract on five of Equinor’s platforms operating in the Norwegian North Sea worth up to $800mn.
