Kuwait Oil Company’s Nada Al Mesfer was recognised as Oil & Gas Woman of the Year at the Oil & Gas Middle East Awards.
“It’s a real pleasure to win an award like this, and my company really encouraged me to go for it, especially my boss, so it’s really an honour. I’ll be adding it to my other achievements,” said Al Mesfer, senior engineer at Kuwait Oil Company.
The winner was singled out for holding a number of important posts and accomplishments in the region, often as the first female to do so.
“This woman has achieved an impressive number of firsts,” said one of the judges.
Another said the winner had enjoyed an “exceptional year,” picking up a number of widely recognised accolades along the way.
Mais Taha of Maersk Oil was Highly Commended, and described as “a highly accomplished engineer – dedicated and driven – who shows great adaptability to different situations,” as well as proving her “global acumen and cultural diversity.”
