Gulf Consolidated Contractors Co. Ltd. (GCC) recently inked a joint venture agreement with Mun Siong Engineering Investment in an effort to establish an integrated industrial maintenance services company in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

The GCC-MSE joint venture will cater to the Oil & Gas, Petrochemical, and Industrial sectors which have recently seen a steady growth buoyed by the Saudi government’s multi-year, multi-billion dollar investments in these sectors.

Due to the complex nature of industrial services, most companies are relying on service providers to implement these types of maintenance programs. With the Saudi economy expected to experience further expansions in the next decades, industrial maintenance services are going to be a huge market in the Kingdom.

“This is an exciting time for us at GCC and MSE to be forming this company at this moment. We expect great potential from this venture and we will be ready to offer our services to help Saudi companies improve their efficiency by reducing their downtimes due to maintenance issues,” said GCC President Waleed Abubshait.

Part of the joint venture will focus on routine plant maintenance, shutdown, and turnaround services which will include complete industrial maintenance services such as mechanical decoking, hydro-jetting, re-tubing, high torque rotary drilling, tube shooting, ultra high pressure abrasive water jet cutting, outside flange machining and other related services.

Mr. Waleed noted that as an integrated maintenance service provider, the GCC-MSE partnership will be able to handle highly complex projects with the most attractive pricing and quality.

MSE Managing Director Mr. Vincent Quek Chiau Liong expressed optimism about the partnership with GCC, noting that the company is highly respected in the Oil and Gas and Petrochemical sectors in Saudi while Mun Siong has the technical expertise to safely implement these types of projects.

“We are thrilled about this joint venture and we will make sure that our partnership with GCC will enable us to provide our clients in Saudi the same outstanding results we have achieve in all our projects,” said Mr. Liong, during the JV’s contract signing ceremony at GCC’s head office in Al Khobar, Eastern Province last week.

He added: “Our advantage is that we do our business in a fast, safe, and as economical as possible for our clients.”
