Kuwait has $62bn worth of oil and gas projects currently under construction, according to an article by Construction Week Online (CW), out of a total $140.9bn. Oil and gas was followed by urban buildings, with projects worth $48.1bn under construction and infrastructure, with $30bn.
UAE-based ProTenders, an online platform for the construction sector, estimates $337.7bn in upcoming construction projects in Kuwait, as of June 2019. Of this segment, only $40.4bn are oil and gas projects, with the vast majority ($245.4bn) going towards urban buildings.
Kuwait National Petroleum Company has projects worth $45.8bn, according to ProTenders’ data, while Kuwait Oil Company has $23.7bn.Â
ProTenders estimates that contracts worth $3.9bn will be awarded in Kuwait in Q3 2019, $2.78bn of which will go towards the oil and gas sector.
