Dubai has launched the Dubai Centre for Artificial Intelligence (DCAI), as part of its efforts to establish itself as a leading hub in the $111 billion AI sector. Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of the Dubai Future Foundation, announced the launch of the DCAI at Emirates Towers. The center aims to support government entities in adopting future technologies across key sectors, Arabian Business reported.
Sheikh Hamdan emphasized Dubai’s commitment to embracing artificial intelligence and future technologies in line with global technological advancements. He stated that the goal is for Dubai’s government to be the world’s best in deploying AI within its various entities. The DCAI is the first step towards achieving this objective and developing future services that keep pace with rapid technological progress.
The establishment of the DCAI aligns with Sheikh Mohammed’s directives to apply the latest AI technologies across various sectors. The generative AI sector is projected to expand from $10 billion in 2022 to $110.8 billion by 2030, with generative AI accounting for 10% of all data produced by 2025. The center will focus on developing legislation related to AI applications, attracting global technological solutions, and nurturing national talent.
The DCAI will play a crucial role in enhancing the performance of the government sector by utilizing AI for simulations, policy analysis, decision-making support, and predicting user needs. It will serve as a collaborative platform for government, private, and academic sectors to develop AI applications and introduce innovative services and products.
The initiatives of the center aim to solidify Dubai’s position as a regional leader in AI research, development, and innovation through partnerships with major international technology companies and academic institutions. With the launch of the DCAI, Dubai is taking significant strides towards realizing its vision of becoming a global leader in AI adoption and shaping the future through advanced technologies.
