 Sudan has applied to become an OPEC member, according to a report by Russia’s RIA news agency.
“We have already applied and are waiting for a decision. Now, everything depends on OPEC,” Sudan’s oil and gas minister Mohamed Zayed Awad was quoted as saying.
Currently, OPEC has 12 members after several composition changes – specifically, Angola’s accession and the return of Ecuador in 2007.
