An official with the National Iranian Gas Company (NIGC) said Iran re-started exporting gas to Turkey on Sunday night after the pipeline was repaired.
An explosion hit Iran-Turkey gas pipeline in the Turkish soil on July 27 and stopped Iran’s gas exports to that country, according to Iran’s news agency, IRNA.Â
NIGC’s dispatching director Manouchehr Taheri said at present, Iran is exporting 20mn cubic meters of gas to Turkey after the Turkish side expressed readiness for that.
Through Iran-Turkey gas pipeline, Iran exports 10bn cubic meters of gas to Turkey every year.
Iran and Turkey have signed a 25-year-old deal on gas exchange since August 8, 1996
