Yasser Mufti has been appointed head of Aramco Trading, the trading arm of Saudi Arabia’s state-owned oil company – according to two people familiar with the matter, the Financial Times has reported.
Mufti is a former Opec governor for Saudi Arabia who then went on to take on a more strategic role at the Kingdom’s state oil company, the report said.
Mufti’s had been in his current role of Head of Mergers and Acqusitions for the last 12 months, according to his LinkedIn profile.Â
The company was formed in 2011 and trades refined products and has a derivatives business.
Aramco Trading could not immediately be reached for comment.
