Barzan offshore, joint project of Qatar Petroleum and ExxonMobil Barzan Limited, was announced Gas Project of the Year at the annual Oil&Gas Middle East awards.
The push for gas in the region is of huge importance to this industry. With rapid industrialisation of the GCC economies, the need for clean burning gas is bigger than ever.
The judges praised the winning project on its size, scale and complexity saying it was a closely run race for all of the nominations.
Other prominent projects nominated for this category were Zora Gas Project by Dana Gas Sharjah Petroleum Council followed by Dolphin Energy.
The award was handed out on stage by Adel Baobaid, president of Al Mansoori, who were one of the gold sponsors for this year’s awards.
