The CEO of Abu Dhabi Marine Operating Company (ADMA-OPCO) confirmed that the Lower Zakum oil field will up production by 100,000 barrels per day (bpd) by the end of 2014.
“We will see the beginning of the ramp up by the end of 2012 and it will reach full production by end of 2014,” Ali Rashid Al Jarwan told Reuters at an interntional oil & gas conference.
Lower Zakum is currently being fitted out for an enhanced oil recovery project which will aim to increase production to 425,000 bpd by injecting large volumes of carbon diozide into the reservoir.
Al Jarwan told Reuters that ADMA-OPCO also hopes to produce its first oil from the first phase of its Umm Al Lulu and Nasr offshore project in late 2013.
ADNOC holds 60% of the company with the rest divided between BP, Total and Japan’s JODC.
