Iraqi Prime Minister Nuri al-Maliki and Eni CEO, Paolo Scaroni, accompanied by Eni E&P COO, Claudio Descalzi, met today in Baghdad to discuss the development of Zubair’s super giant field in the center of the country.
During the meeting, Eni’s CEO explained all aspects of the field development including the expansion of the organization, which employs 200 expatriates, and the construction of new buildings within the operational area, as well as the recent opening of Eni’s offices in Baghdad.
Eni CEO Paolo Scaroni has also announced that the company will participate in the fourth round bid and the competition for the development of Nassirya field.
The Minister al-Maliki expressed his satisfaction with the activities carried out by Eni in Iraq and called for a greater presence of the company in the country.
Eni is the operator of Zubair, considered one of the biggest oil fields of Iraq. Zubair, operating at full capacity, will produce 1.2 million barrels of oil equivalent per day.
