FMC Technologies has scooped a $135 million deal to to build subsea equipment for BG Norge, the company said yesterday.

The equipment includes six control modules, five wellheads and two manifolds, and will be used in the Knarr oil and gas field in the Norwegian North Sea.

FMC has recently subcontracted work to fabricators in the UAE and the contract may present a new opportunity.

“This is the first call-off order under the new multi-year frame agreement,” said Tore Halvorsen, a senior vice president for the Houston-based firm, said in a statement. “We recently completed a detailed engineering study for the project, and we are eager to now support the field with our subsea systems.”

The agreement also includes three subsea production trees and three water injection trees. The components, whose delivery is expected in the spring of 2013, will be used in about 1320 feet of water.
