What has been called a “limited fire” was brought under control at a gas pipeline at Burgan oil field, according to the Kuwait Oil Company in a statement released to KUNA, the country’s state news agency, on Friday.
KOC firemen put out the blazes in an hour and quarter after isolating the damaged pipeline.
One member of KOC staff and three contractors suffered burns and bruises as a result of the accident. They were transported to hospital for treatment, the statement added.
KOC has said a panel will be set up to investigate circumstances of the accident, according to standing regulations, to determine its causes and avert recurrence of such accidents in the future.
