Dana Gas has not yet received payment for gas delivered in Egypt, the Abu Dhabi-based company said in a statement on Tuesday.
In May, Dana’s management reported delayed payments of $148 million for gas sales to the Egyptian government and said if these were not met it would impact on its future investments in the country.
The Dana Gas statement contradicts a statement from the Egyptian government last week claiming that the late payments have been made.
An unnamed government official previously told Reuters that the disagreement was over a difference of five million standard cubic feet per day of gas over a five-month period, which Dana Gas alleged the Egyptian government did not want to make payments for.
“The payment has been made, and the main reason why it was delayed is because we had a minor conflict with Dana over the volumes of gas being produced and sold to us,” said an official at state-owned Egyptian Natural Gas Holding Company told Reuters on 28 July.
