Halul Offshore Services Company (HOSC), a wholly owned subsidiary of Qatar Navigation, has won a QR 23 million (US$6.3 million) wireline support services contract from Qatar Petroleum (QP).
Chief executive officer of HOSC Khalifa Mohamed Al-Hitmi said the contract is for providing wireline support administered using Halul 37 vessel.
The contract period is three years with an option to extend for two more years. HOSC will carry out wireline support services in the offshore oil fields owned by QP.
HOSC was established in 2000 with a paid up capital of QR300 million ($82 million) to provide offshore support services to the oil and gas industries locally, regionally and worldwide.
The company currently operates a fleet of some 31 offshore service vessels in addition to five chartered ships.
HOSC has expertise in several areas of marine services including safety standby vessels, anchor handling tugs, crew boat, wireline support vessels, construction vessels, wellhead maintenance vessel, diving support vessels and ship transportation of personnel and ships equipped with cranes.
