UAE-based MIS Group (Maritime Industrial Services), announced Tuesday that MIS Production Services, its recently launched start-up, signed its first contract with Ras Al Khaimah Gas Commission, a long standing MIS customer, for a two-year gas compression maintenance and service agreement.
MIS Production Services was established by the MIS Group to provide surface oil & gas production equipment for both onshore and offshore developments, complementing the services provided by MIS’ EPC, Fabrication and Sunbelt segments.
Part of Production Services’ scope is the supply of oilfield production chemicals for a range of oil and gas drilling and production applications. The group will despatch its first shipment before the end of the month – 10 tonnes of H2S Scavenger under the newly formed TECHTREAT brand for distribution to operators in the Kurdish region of Iraq, according to a statement released by the company.
“We launched Production Services to strategically extend MIS’ EPC capability to provide manufacturing, installation, technical and maintenance services to both onshore and offshore projects,” said Kevin Hudson, MIS managing director.
“The significance of this contract is not its size but that we expect it to be the first of many for Production Services and are delighted that it is for one of MIS’ existing clients.”
Ruurd Abma, RAKGAS chief operating officer commented: “As a prudent and ambitious operator, RAKGAS are always looking at ways that we can improve on our existing operations both in terms of efficiency and cost saving. Therefore we see this service agreement as a good step forward for combating the ever increasing challenges thrown up from the relatively complex and hard driven rotating equipment used at our site in Ras Al Khaimah. MIS have been a long serving contractor for RAKGAS and this additional service will no doubt bring the same success into the future that we have experienced in the past.”
