Algerian State Energy controlled (Sonatrach) has announced two hydrocarbons discoveries in the Illizi basin, the company has said in statement.
These discoveries have been made following the drilling of a number of wells in the region.
The locations of the wells included in Akamil-2 (IAK-2), and Ain Antar Est-2 (AARE-2) realised in blocs 239a and 244a, located at the perimeter Tinrhert I, basin of Illizi.
These new discoveries increase the number of total discoveries by Sonatrach in 2010 to 5.
