Abu Dhabi National Oil Co (ADNOC) has signed a US$560.4 million oilfield development contract with National Petroleum Construction Company (NPCC), ADCO has revealed.

NPCC will develop infrastructure at the Qusahwira oilfield, work which will include building an oil gathering system and a pipeline to the Asab field, ADCO reported.

ADCO is planning to add 30,000 barrels per day of production from the first phase of development of the Qusahwira oilfield by 2013. The firm is aiming to boost its output capacity from 1.4 million barrels per day to 1.8 million barrels per day.

This latest expansion is part of a bigger plan for the firm to boost capacity to around 3.5 million barrels per day by 2018, Reuters reported.

NPCC beat six other bids to secure the contract with ADCO.
