A senior official from the Austria-based energy company OMV has told ArabianOilandGas.com that it is planning to join forces with the Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC) to develop natural-gas deposits in the hydrocarbon rich emirate.
Klaus Angerer, OMV’s Abu Dhabi general manager, said that that his company is also considering gas developments in Ras Al Khaimah and Sharjah.
“We are planning to work together with ADNOC and we are talking, we are interested in working on gas development in Abu Dhabi as it has the biggest gas resources, but we are also considering operations in Ras Al Khaimah and Sharjah,” Angerer said.
Angerer stressed that OMV is not yet in talks with national oil companies in Sharjah or Ras Al Khaimah, but plans to be in the future.
