Qatar Shipping Company (Q-Ship) and Qatar Fertilizer Company (QAFCO) have entered into an agreement for the time charter of the gas carrier ‘Almajedah’, which is fully owned and operated by Q-Ship.
The vessel, a fully refrigerated LPG/ammonia tanker, had been ordered and received by Q-Ship in November 2004 and since the delivery had been trading worldwide with cargoes of ammonia, propane and butane. On this new timecharter, the vessel will be mainly used for the transport of ammonia from Qatar to India.
A signing ceremony for the tanker tome charter was held in the Q-Ship’s office in Doha on 19th January 2010 and was signed by Q-Ship’s chairman and MD, Salem Bin Butti Al-Naimi and QAFCO’s MD, Khalifa Al-Sowaidi.
