The CEO of the National Iranian South Oil Company (NISOC) has said that the company has signed a total of eight contracts worth US$380 million with local firms for the construction of a number of oilfield services items.
The Tehran Times reported that Gholam-Reza Hassan-Beiglou said that the items included chemicals, various pipes, drill parts, safety valves, gate valves, gas turbine parts, and inner-well equipment.
The official said that the reason behind the order was to support domestic manufacturers in the state of Khuzestan and work towards self-sufficiency in the oil industry.
Hassan-Beiglou also stressed that the items would be engineered to international standards.
