The oil and gas contracting subsidiary of Indian conglomerate Dodsal is the favourite to be awarded a US$60 million nitrogen pipeline contract by Abu Dhabi Gas Industries Company (Gasco).
Business intelligence specialist MEED reported that the bid from Dodsal is the second lowest bid the company has submitted for two pipeline projects put out to tender by Gasco. It is believed that the bids are 10%-20% lower than bids from rival contractors.
“It looks like they really wanted to get these deals. They are already well mobilized in the UAE and they can get some good cost savings by doing both deals at once,” MEED quotes a source close to the bid process as saying.
The contract involves the construction of a 45 kilometre nitrogen pipeline linking Mirfa with the Habshan oil field in Abu Dhabi.
Dodsal has worked on a numerous of oil and gas contracts in Abu Dhabi including a number of pipeline projects for subsidiaries of the state-owned Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC).
