Saudi Al Waha Petrochemicals Company (Al Waha) has announced that it has started commissioning its new polypropylene plant located in Al-Jubail industrial area, on the eastern coast of the KSA.
The new facilty will produce 460,000 metric tonnes per annum (mtpa) of propylene which will be then used as a feedstock for the production of 450,000 mtpa of polypropylene.

The company said that the project will makes use of the availability of propane as a feedstock and nearby facilities in Al-Jubail. Al Waha also said that it will sell the polypropylene on both regional and international markets.
Al Waha is a joint venture between Sahara Petrochemicals (75%) and Lyondell Basell (25%).Â
