“SNC-Lavalin is very pleased with this contract award, Jean Beaudoin, executive vice-president, SNC-Lavalin said.

“Work will be carried out primarily in our Calgary office, as well as in our in-Kingdom offices through SNC-Lavalin Arabia,” he added.

The WGDP will provide for the production and processing of up to 2.5 billion standard cubic feet per day (scfd) of gas from the Aribiyah and Hasbah offshore non-associated sour gas fields.

The 5-year contract expected to commence by October 1, 2009. The value of the deal was not disclosed.

ArabianOilandGas.com reported last week that SNC-Lavalin were neck and neck with the US-based KBR for two major FEED contracts for Saudi Aramco – the WGDP and the gas contract at the Shaybah oilfield.
