A deal has been struck between Iran and an unnamed foreign company to export gas to the UAE, according to reports in the Iranian media.
The Iranian News Agency quoted the director general of the National Iranian Gas Export Co. (NIGEC), Reza Kasaeizadeh, as saying an agreement had been reached to export gas from an Iranian field in the Gulf water and transport it to the UAE over a 25 year period.
Kasaeizadeh did not name the company involved in the deal but did reveal 3 billion cubic metres of gas will be exported to the UAE in the deal. NIGEC announced a month ago that a memorandum of understanding has been signed with an unnamed company regarding this deal.
