GE Oil & Gas has announced that it has been awarded a contract by an ExxonMobil subsidiary to provide subsea production equipment for Kizomba Satellites, a new deepwater oil production project off the coast of West Africa.
“The GE Oil & Gas and ExxonMobil partnership continues to grow, recognising our shared approach to developing Africa’s offshore resources,” Sam Aquillano, vice president, GE and COO, Drilling & Production, GE Oil & Gas said.
Under the terms of the contract, GE will supply a range of subsea equipment, including deepwater tree connectors. The compnay also said that a “high proportion” of the equipment will be produced and assembled in Angola.
According to the agreement GE will supply: subsea trees; manifolds; jumpers and connectors; controls equipment; umbilical termination assemblies (UTAs); subsea distribution units (SDUs); and flying leads. Topside equipment will be installed at EEAL’s Kizomba A and B floating production, storage and offloading vessels (FPSOs).
The value of the contract was not disclosed.
