Abu Dhabi denies making gas deal with Iran

Spokesman from state-owned Mubadala issues a denial via email

Iranian newspaper the Tehran Times reported that a Mubadala spokesman issued a rebuttal via email.

“Neither Mubadala nor any of its subsidiaries are involved in discussions with the NIOC regarding import of gas to the UAE,” the paper quoted the email as saying.

Yesterday, the Iranian Mehr News Agency reported that NIOC and Mubadala had reached a preliminary agreement, adding Iran will start to deliver up to 10 million cubic meters of gas per day to the Emirati company and taking over the deal the NIOC had in place with the UAE-based Crescent Petroleum.
