ADNOC issues pipe tender for US$10bn Shah field

Abu Dhabi energy giant issues tender for construction of 48″ pipes

The Abu Dhabi National Oil Company’s (ADNOC) US$10 billion project to development the Shah sour gas field in Abu Dhabi has issued its first official tender for construction work.

Business news specialist MEED reported that the contract is for the construction of the 48″ pipes that will run between the three fields included in the projects; the Shah, Asab and Habshan fields.

“The contractors have been asked to go to the Adnoc offices today [10 June] to pick up the tender documents for the pipeline package,” MEED reported a source as saying.

The chairman of ADNOC Yusuf Bin Omeir Bin Yusuf said at the recent Gastech 2009 conference in Abu Dhabi that the current global financial crisis has provided ADNOC with an ideal opportunity to execute its mega projects for new development and for boosting production capacity at a lower cost and higher quality.
