Algeria and Germany are discussing a solar power project that will transfer solar energy from the south of Algeria to Germany, according to Algerian news paper El-Khaber.
The mega power generation project, which is set to link the city of Adrar in the south of Algeria with the German city of Aachen, crossing more than 3000km, is expected to generate more than 6000MW per year.
The European parliament is expected to approve the project and set it as a top priority of the EU.
The German aerospace agency has conducted a detailed study about the project ,which requires finance from governments as it is considered as a vital project for European countries. Â
