Schneider Electric and measurement technology specialist, Krohne, has unveiled a new pipeline management solution at the Gastech 2009 conference currently being held in Abu Dhabi.
The collaboration involves the development of a new platform that allows the monitoring and management of pipelines in the energy industry.
The Germany-based Krohne will supply the pipeline instrumentation including custody transfer flow measurement products and a pipeline leakage detection system the company believes to be a market leader.
Schneider Electric will provide monitoring and automation as its part of the package.
Gunter Pinkowski, Krohne’s director of marketing said: “20% of the pipeline management sector’s business is in the Middle East so we thought it was apt to make this announcement at Gastech 2009. We are very confident that this is going to be a successful collaboration.”
Alan Acquatell from Schneider Electric said: “We believe we have a market leading product. The energy sector needs reliable, efficient and cost effect ways to transfer their products and we can supply them with this.”
