Aker Solutions nets two Petrobras P-55 contracts

$20.5 million offshore mooring and riser pull-in system deal

Aker Solutions has been awarded two contracts for Petrobras’ P-55 project in Brazil for the design and supply of an Aker Solutions’ Pusnes offshore mooring system and a Pusnes riser pull-in system. The total contract value for Aker Solutions is approximately US$20.53 million.

The contracts consist of 16 roller RamWinches(TM) and several specially designed winches and wire routing system for a semi production unit owned by Petrobras PN BV. The semi production unit will be built at the new Rio Grande shipyard in Brazil. After completion it will be located on the Roncador Field offshore Brazil.

Leif Haukom, President of Aker Solutions offshore mooring systems unit, commented: “We are proud to be selected as the maker of these systems for an important Brazilian client. This contract underlines Aker Solutions strong position as a preferred supplier of offshore systems with world wide lifecycle service.”

Aker Solutions has developed the Pusnes RamWinch design which is a cost effective on-vessel mooring solution. The RamWinch combines low weight with high pulling capacity thereby reducing overall cost for the client. The first Pusnes offshore mooring winches were delivered in the late 1960’s to semisubmersible drilling rigs.

Delivery will take place during 2010.
