Good news at last for Iraq’s beleaguered Oil Ministry as its official spokesman stated that the Gulf state had increased its oil revenues by US$200 million.
“During April 2009, Iraq exported 54.7 million barrels of oil, making revenues of $2.7 billion at an oil price of $49.21 a barrel,” Assim Jihad is reported by the Aswat al-Iraq news agency as saying.
Jihad also said that Iraq’s oil revenues in March 2009 were $2.5 billion and said a total of 26 Arab, Asian, U.S. and European companies bought the country’s oil in April 2009.
