One of the world’s largest offshore construction vessels (OCV) has been delivered by Drydocks World, the maritime arm of global Dubai investment company Dubai World, to the Singapore-based Coastline Maritime, the company have said in a statement.
The aptly named, OSA Goliath, is a 22,000 dwt vessel is equipped with a 2000-tonne crane that is capable of installing offshore platforms and pipelines in deep waters. The vessel was constructed at Drydocks World’s Pertama yard in Singapore.
“OSA Goliath is a valuable testimony to our shipbuilding facilities. Going forward, we will continue to deliver high quality new building projects and meet our customers’ expectations,” Denis Welch, CEO of Drydocks World, Southeast Asia said.
The CEO of Coastline Maritime, Terry Highlands, showered praise on the Pertama yard after taking delivery of the vessel.
“Our ships, constructed are the world’s largest multi-purpose offshore construction vessels. The projects could not have been realised without the technical expertise and teamwork evident at the yard.”
