Iran’s oil minister has announced that the country had failed to agree a new, improved deal for gas imports from Crescent Petroleum according to Iranian news agency ISNA.
Gholam Hussein Nozari told the news agency that the UAE-based company must offer a realistic price or otherwise look for their gas elsewhere.
“As long as the national interests are not provided in the agreement, no gas will be handed to the UAE Crescent company,” he told ISNA.
“To meet this objective the gas exported to Crescent must have a real price and that is while the company has not yet made a new offer,” he added.
Last week Crescent Petroleum has said that they had agreed a new deal with Iran after raising their offer for the gas they import. This was denied by Iran.
Nozari also told ISNA that progress in the South Pars gas field proved that sanctions against the country were failing.
