Algerian state energy group Sonatrach revealed has made another gas discovery in Ahnat basin in AI-Salah, the southwest of Algeria, according to a statement released by the company.
The discovery was made by the consortium led by Spanish oil and gas company Repsol (33.75% stake), with Algerian state-owned gas company Sonatrach holding 25 %, Germany’s RWE Dea 22.5% and Italy’s Edison 18.75%.Â
Test drilling producing a flow of 363,000 cubic metres per day. The discovery is the sixth in 2009, and the second within a week.
