A total of 97 members of staff from the ENOC corporate offices hit the garage forecourts last week to pump fuel, clean windscreens, sell snacks and drinks and wash cars as part of a team building exercise.
The ‘Pump Up The Volume’ initiative aims to connect head office staff with workers from ENOC’s front-line retail team in a bid to foster mutual respect. Both male and female staff, including members of senior management, took part and worked at ENOC/EPPCO service stations around Dubai for half a day.
The event’s objective was to allow head office staff to experience the various duties being carried out by the front-line retail staff and understand their roles and responsibilities. The initiative also aimed to further strengthen solidarity and unity between the retail team and corporate employees.
Burhan Al Hashemi, chief operating officer of the retail business unit at ENOC believes that the initiative is good for fostering camaraderie in the workplace.
”This year’s activity boasted the largest number of ENOC’s corporate office volunteers,” he said. “Their active participation truly encouraged the rapport between the head office, convenience store and forecourt teams as well as united the group’s commitment to quality customer service, care and speed.”
The ‘Pump up the Volume’ initiative has been running since 1999. Women employees initially worked in the shop while men worked on the forecourts. Over the years, however, more and more female participants opted to also do forecourt duties.
