A joint study exploring logistics possibilities from Abu Dhabi Polymers Park (ADPP) has been concluded by Abu Dhabi Basic Industries and Maersk Logistics, it was recently announced. The study looked at the feasibility of providing end-to-end supply chain services to tenants at the ADPP, and coincides with the plan to open a logistics centre at the park.
“This study is backed by our vision to offer tenants access to a single dedicated service provider to handle the inbound, onsite and outbound logistics at a competitive cost. The Park reflects the Emirate’s commitment towards diversification through industrial development and we are convinced that this endeavour will take us a step further towards achieving our goal,” said Mohammed Hasan Al Qamzi, senior vice president, ADPP.
“Our proven global experience in the petrochemical sector and cutting-edge infrastructure can add tremendous value to Abu Dhabi Polymers Park tenants by providing a full portfolio of unparalleled supply chain services with scalability and flexibility to remain competitive as the park develops,” explained Klaus Dahl Tindborg, regional CEO, Maersk Logistics.
Meanwhile ADPP also announced that construction had commenced for its first industrial spot in Mussafah ICADIII, The factory will host Bonar Emirates Technical Yarms, a joint venture between ADBIC and Low and Bonar.
“We are very happy to see the first group of factory buildings being designed and built on time and according to our challenging plans. Since the official launch in June this year, we have had very strong interest from both regional and international plastics converters,” added Al Qamzi.
