Tendering deadline passes

Deadline passes for Dolphin’s Taweelah to Fujarah pipeline.

Priced tenders for the Taweelah to Fujairah Pipeline (TFP) have been submitted to Dolphin Energy today from bidding construction companies. The TFP natural gas pipeline will be 48 inches in diameter and over 240 kilometres in length, making it one of the longest in the UAE.

The tenders have been accepted from five international construction companies, who were requested to advance to the bidding stage by Dolphin. They are Al Jaber Energy Services, UAE; Consolidated Contractors International (CCC), Greece; Dodsal, India; Stroytransgaz (STG) of Russia and Saipem/Snamprogetti of Italy.

Work is expected to commence on the landmark pipeline by the end of the year. When finished, it will link Dolphin Energy’s plant at Taweelah, Abu Dhabi, to the ADWEA Power and Water Desalination Plant at Qidfa, in Fujairah. The company already supplies the plant with up to 135 million cubic feet of gas per day via the Al Ain Pipeline, commissioned in 2004.
