Poudrsazan Industrial and Mining Group is an Iranian company specialising in the manufacturing and exporting of fine mineral powders within the Middle East region. Present at the International Petroleum Technology Conference last month, the company spoke of its current areas of production.
“We have two kinds of production in our company – one for calcium carbonates – the raw material used in paint, and the other for the production of fine materials for the drilling operation of wells in the oil and gas industry.”
“We own 14 mines in Iran – from the mines, to the factory, to production – we make it all super micronised using many forms of granulation,” said Abdul Aziz, chief of exports, Poudrsazan.
“Depending on the production process that the customer requires, everything has to be controlled. We can fulfill any requirements using minerals such as Barite, Bentonite, Red Iron Oxide, Mica, Fluorite, Dolomite, Kaolin, Limonite, and we can start from 200 mesh, which is the particle size, and this can go up to a maximum of 2500 mesh, a very, very soft material,” he added.
Established over 25 years ago, the company exports its products to a number of countries across the Gulf – Saudi Arabia, Qatar, UAE, Kuwait, Oman, Turkey, Kazakhstan, and Romania to name just a few.
“For the past four years, we have been the largest exporter in Iran – we export everywhere in the Middle East. We have a factory in Bandarabas port, which is very close to the Gulf; we know that the exportation costs in Iran are too high so we built this factory. We also own a barge with a 600 tonne capacity, which we use for our customer exports,” said Aziz.
The company, whose factories and laboratories are all based in Iran, also hopes to open a calcium carbonate producing factory in the UAE next year and is currently in the process of finalising a project in Saudi Arabia to produce Barite and Bentonite for the Kingdom’s many oil drilling requirements.
