The Kuwait Ministry of Electricity and Water (MEW) has been reported saying that it will need a further KD 1 million per year until 2015 in order ensure electricity flow throughout the state.
MEW has reportedly contacted the Ministry of Finance and for the sum to be added to MEW’s annual budget.
The sum was decided upon after studies on the needs of power plants in regards to operational and maintenance costs.
The ministry is also considering a new billing system, with divisions based on consumption categories, but officials are apparently divided over the decision.
