Elan Incorporated announced setting up of a production facility for tight head and open top steel drums of up to 220 litres capacity for chemical and petrochemical industry in the UAE.
A new state-of-the-art manufacturing unit with a capacity of over two million drums per annum will come up at Hamriyah Free Zone. The project is likely to be completed by end of 2018 at an estimated cost of $10mn.
Elan has entered into a long-term lease agreement with Hamriyah Free Zone for setting up the factory, which will offer internationally acclaimed steel drums representing the latest technology. This fully automated plant with the most modern manufacturing and testing facilities will be the first of its kind in the region.
Strategically located Hamriyah Free Zone offers most modern infrastructure and most investor-friendly environment for the business to grow. This new facility is an extension of Elan’s current operations at Sharjah Free Zone, producing intermediate bulk containers, polymer containers and drums.
