Schneider Electric unveils new digital architecture for process management in energy sector

Schneider Electric’s EcoStruxure architecture is an open and interoperable system architecture for oil and gas end-users.

Schneider Electric conducted an event in Abu Dhabi highlighting the introduction of EcoStruxure, a digital architecture for process management in infrastructure projects in oil and gas that delivers significantly enhanced value to professionals in the industry, including contractors, consulting engineers and end-users.

With open integration, real-time operations and analytics and increased levels of cyber security, the next generation architecture enables end-users to make the most of new opportunities created by intelligent devices and digitisation to deliver improved reliability, safety, efficiency, sustainability and connectivity for customers across multiple industries.

Schneider Electric’s EcoStruxure architecture is an open and interoperable system architecture for oil and gas end-users. It brings together the company’s industry-leading connected products, edge control, apps, analytics and services into a connected and integrated framework for all areas of the value chain.

The event encompassed emerging technologies powered by the Internet of Things, enabling industrial companies to develop intelligent and autonomous assets across their operations that can naturally converge to optimise the performance of each asset, asset set and entire industrial enterprise. The result will be yielding higher level of industrial performance than ever before.

While technological evolution accelerates at an exponential pace providing improved efficiencies and safety at Schneider Electric, the solutions designed encompass various complexities involving adaptation to automation with the latest technologies. Maximising productivity, reliability and security while minimising risks and business interruptions was the theme of the event.

The event was inaugurated by Abdul Nasser Mohammed Basheer Mustafa Al Mughairbi, senior advisor, the executive office, ADNOC. Al Mughairbi stressed upon the need for the digital transformation which would meet the vision of the national oil companies.  A glimpse of the future digital refining concepts and methodologies were well articulated by Ahmed Samhan Al Neaimi, head, ADNOC refining automation section, Ruwais refinery.

The event emphasised on Schneider Electric’s EcoStruxure brand which enhances the platform for automation for enhanced reliability, availability and maintainability of the industrial processes.
