ENOC launches ‘Graduate Development Programme’ for UAE nationals

The 12-month programme follows the selection of 15 graduates from over 40 applicants for jobs offered by the Group at the Careers UAE fair

The ENOC Group has introduced the first ‘Graduate Development Programme’ (GDP) part of its National Development Programme initiative aimed at helping young Emiratis in their transition from university to the workplace and contributing to its talent development strategy.

The 12-month programme follows the selection of 15 graduates from over 40 applicants for jobs offered by the Group at the Careers UAE fair. These include positions in engineering, marketing and sales, human resources, finance and accounting, and supply chain management.

It is designed to prepare participants for management and leadership positions within the Dubai Government-owned ENOC Group through career development opportunities.

“The UAE’s visionary leadership prioritised human capital development, as it plays a key role in the creation of sustainable knowledge-based economies. The launch of the ‘Graduate Development Programme’ is in line with our commitment to attract and retain local talent, and provide progressive career development opportunities to groom them to be future leaders,” Saif Humaid Al Falasi, group CEO of ENOC, has been quoted as saying.

“As a national oil company, it is also our mandate to boost Emiratisation goals, as part of the UAE Vision 2021,” Al Falasi said of the training programme.

The 15 young Emiratis, who will join the ENOC workforce of over 10,000 employees, will undergo a detailed induction and coaching programme which will match their skills and qualifications to the right job within the diverse oil and gas group.

The National Development Programme will be split into three phases over the year, The has three levels Tatweer, Mawaheb and Imtiaz that aim to develop functional, technical, behavioural and managerial competencies, and ensure that participants experience ENOC’s employment opportunities in a holistic manner.

The recently launched GDP is a component of Tatweer, the first phase, and will mainly focus on orientation. It will include a three-month corporate induction, targeted learning, group activities and events with the group HR executives.

Phase two will emphasise business skills training a range of specialised training modules that foster effective business and technical writing, critical thinking, communication and negotiation skills, as well as business skills to support professional development.

The third phase will involve rotations that are designed to broaden the graduate’s knowledge of business areas and expand their internal and external professional network. This will also help them identify their career path within ENOC, based on where their skills and interests lie.

During these phases, participants will receive professional development opportunities on special projects, conferences, research papers and presentations. The Emirati graduates will also be given networking and mentorship opportunities with senior executives at ENOC.
