His Excellency Suhail Al Mazrouei, minister of energy, UAE, will provide the opening plenary speech at this year’s EIC Connect Oil & Gas UAE conference and exhibition on 23 May at Dusit Thani, Abu Dhabi.
Joining HE Suhail Al Mazrouei on the stage for the opening address will be Her Majesty’s Ambassador to the UAE, Philip Parham. They will discuss the outlook for the UAE oil and gas industry as well as provide advice for overseas companies looking to establish themselves in the region.
Also attending the event will be representatives from the UAE energy major ADNOC, who will use the occasion to unveil the company’s new operating structure as well as explain its streamlined pre-qualification process for its suppliers.
EIC Connect Oil & Gas UAE is designed to increase foreign investment in the Middle East energy sector through a day of conference sessions, briefings on regional oil and gas projects, private meetings and an exhibition, with over 400 senior representatives of UK energy firms expected to attend this year’s event.
Investment in the Middle East oil and gas industry by UK businesses will generate new jobs, add value to the local supply chain and bring new technological solutions to support the region to produce more energy, safely and efficiently.
Apart from providing updates on their projects during the briefing sessions, the participating Gulf operators and contractors, including GE Oil & Gas, Petrofac, Petronas, Shell and SNC-Lavalin, will also be taking part in over 200 private one-to-one meetings with the UK delegates to discuss their supplier requirements, procurement procedures and how they can work together on the upcoming projects in the region.
The 2017 conference programme, which includes speakers from Amec Foster Wheeler, BP, Shell and Total, among others, has been tailored to the current Middle East market. It will cover the challenges and opportunities specific to the region, such as how companies can adapt their offering to serve the booming sour gas market and what tools the major Gulf players are looking for to support their enhanced oil recovery programmes.
The exhibition will host 25 of the UK’s premier oil and gas service companies and is expected to attract procurement specialists from energy companies from around the Middle East looking for innovative products and services which can add value to their companies’ projects and programmes.
