Scottish Plexus wins tech order for Oman oil well

The new well, Karamah-1, will be drilled from the Aban VII jackup rig over 30 days

Scotland-based Plexus Holdings has won a contract from Singaporean-owned Masirah Oil to provide its oilfield technology for a second exploration well in Block 50 offshore Oman, a report said.

Plexus’ Pos-Grip wellhead technology has been used or ordered for more than 400 oil and gas projects worldwide, reported Oman Observer.

The new well, Karamah-1, will be drilled from the Aban VII jackup rig over 30 days, the report said, adding that a third well may be drilled in the area.

Plexus chief executive Ben van Bilderbeek was quoted as saying that the latest order from Masirah “increases our visibility in this important oil and gas region”.
