The Operational Excellence category assumed great importance at this year’s Awards, in the light of the prevailing situation when the regional oil and gas industry is striving to ‘do more with less’. The Kuwait Oil Company has claimed this year’s ‘Operational Excellence Strategy of the Year’ award for its Well Delivery Team, which is part of the South East Kuwait Asset.
The judges described the nomination as a proven method with “clear improvements achieved through this strategy; something that appears to be extendable.”
Emerson Process Management’s entry emerged as the ‘highly commended’ nomination in this closely fought category, for the company’s work in providing the control system solution for Saudi Aramco.
Reflecting on the details of Emerson’s entry, a judge praised the effort as: “Clearly a complex job – considering the brownfield application, skill enhancement of manpower; streamlined operations, and a large scale application.”
