NPCC wins Aramco offshore facilities contract

NPCC will help to build offshore oil and gas platforms, pipelines, power cables and other infrastructure, Aramco says

Saudi Aramco has awarded a long-term contract to National Petroleum Construction Co (NPCC) of Abu Dhabi for work on the oil giant’s offshore facilities, according to reports.

NPCC will help build offshore oil and gas platforms, pipelines, power cables and other infrastructure, Aramco said in a statement, without giving a monetary value or details of the work.

“This fifth strategic LTA is needed for the successful execution of the complex and extensive offshore projects to be completed in the offshore Oil & Gas fields in the Arabian Gulf — all within an aggressive schedule,” said Ahmad Al Saadi, senior vice president of Saudi Aramco’s Technical Services.

The contract has a duration of six years with options to extend it for up to 12 years. It is the fifth such deal signed by Aramco; in June last year, it awarded four such contracts to other engineering companies, namely McDermott; Saipem; a consortium of Larsen & Toubro and EMAS; and Dynamic Industries International.

Aqeel Madhi, CEO of NPCC, said his company will ensure quality and adherence to delivery schedule as per the expectations of its strategic partner Saudi Aramco.
